Not Your Scene One Year Anniversary Show
Anciients, with War Baby, La Chinga, Grass City and M16

Not Your Scene, your Vancouver Music Magazine, is turning one! To celebrate, they're throwing a huge birthday bash with a stacked lineup.

"Somewhere between sheer, apocalyptic heaviness and precise riffing, lays otherworldly ANCIIENTS—a Vancouver-based rock juggernaut forging crushing heavy metal evocative of veterans High on Fire and contemporary sonic craftsmen, Opeth. ANCIIENTS have combined fuck-off-huge chords with mind-altering riffage that takes you on an unfamiliar trip."

If trios are the hole in the Canadian music industry’s veritable ripped jeans, Vancouver’s War Baby are ready to rip it a new one. The analogy fits a little snugger when you consider that Jesus Horse, the group's debut LP, was funded by selling a pair of collectable vintage Levi’s jeans.

It was in the year of the no lord 2012. In the dark wilderness of Vancouver, BC, where lost youths teemed in search of the true power of ROCK, three men—chosen by occult forces too sinister to name—rose up in answer to that dire and baleful call. With their electric black magic unleashed and in full flight, they bonded with the children of the forest over Cro-Magnon riffage, pounding drums, banshee wails, bell bottoms, boogie vans and the sweet miracle of tequila. Through sheer stoopidity, brutality, violence and volume they honed their primordial craft into a sonic axe of stone, opening skulls with deadly precision for as far as the pterodactyl flew.

A cathartic jug of musical moonshine tough enough to bring the sun down. Grass City is a band of few words, but their music does all the talking that they don't.

Old school thrash metal with a SHITLOAD of other influences.
